Vintage Pink Stripe Bar Towels
Vintage Pink Stripe Bar Towels
These vintage striped cotton bar towels are by Niagara Textile Co. are appear to be from the 50s or 60’s. I have not been able to find them anywhere else - the pink stripes make them SO unique! Usually these types of towels have red or green stripes. They make me feel as if I were a local who frequents bar in France, talking with the older bartender, who is becoming my best friend and therapist… everything is lit with candles and they twinkle through the glassware as I spill my guts to this particular bartender who is drying glassware with. these. towels. And that’s the magic of vintage: the pieces can take you to places you’ve never been and give off the energy of their lives before you had them.
I have three available and sourced them with other linens that were all in crazy amazing condition for their age. They were well taken care of. They are a soft cotton with no stains or holes to be found, although the softness gives me the idea that they were probably used and washed at least a couple of times. (A stiff linen usually tells me that it’s never been used or washed, and is brand “new”).
For full disclosure, the edit on these photos has desaturated the pink. Feel free to DM me on Instagram for additional photos or videos, should you feel like you need a more accurate tone for the design of your space.
